Florence is considered one of the most vibrant, arts-oriented cities in the world. Therefore, Il Trillo has access to superb theaters, recital halls and historic churches for performances in addition to practice facilities at the school. Small class sizes, hour-long lessons, and co-curricular opportunities guarantee a quality experience for our students. Our open, friendly and supportive atmosphere nurtures creativity and encourages students to achieve their best.
The School offers both long and short programs. Students can choose to study the entire scholastic year, one semester, or even for one month. All courses are taught by professional musicians who regularly win prestigious performing arts awards and competitions.
Apart from private lessons and instrumental concentration, we offer a diverse curriculum that changes year-to-year. Although there is a strong emphasis on performance within the program, you will also find courses in history, harmony ,diction and style, collaborative work and Italian language. From classical voice to jazz piano, we have the program to suit your needs and interests.
The courses are designed for students at all levels:
1) Beginners: From the very first lesson students are taught the basics of reading and writing music and the execution of simple vocal or instrumental compositions.
2) Intermediate: Students will refine their technical and musical competence, study major works, harmonic analysis of scores, ear and rhythmic training.
3) Advanced: Students will work towards perfecting their techniques and interpretative skills while preparing for the next step towards a career.
The courses are designed to follow the growth of the student’s musical abilities and to achieve a high level competence in music, including: sight reading, composition, collaborating with other musicians, improvement of technical and expressive skills, and ear training ability.
Many of our students have won international prizes, commissions, and scholarships. All students who show outstanding ability within their field will be recommended to national and international associations and music agencies.
